The Program

The recent U.S. financial turmoil and its subsequent spread to Europe and Asia have changed the world in fundamental ways. While still unfolding, this watershed event has altered the existing economic order and brought great uncertainties to policymakers in both the private and public sectors.

As with any crisis, organizations and individuals are presented not only with present dangers requiring immediate action, but also unforeseen opportunities for strategic repositioning to fit tomorrow's realities.

To help businesses prepare for and compete successfully in this turbulent environment, we have invited an international group of experts from academia, industry, and government to "look" into the future and recommend appropriate response actions.

Specifically, the conference has three main objectives:

  • To anticipate and explore the key features of a new global economic order that is emerging from the current financial crisis.
  • To assess the potential commercial impact of this new economic order, with emphasis on Asia-Pacific firms and nations.
  • To identify and examine the regional advantages of Asia-Pacific that can be leveraged by both local and foreign firms to enhance competitiveness in the new world.

Who Should Attend

This business forum is designed for senior government officials and top-level corporate officers (e.g., CEOs, COOs, VPs, managing directors, etc.), international investors, management consultants, business entrepreneurs, industry analysts, senior headquarters and subsidiary managers, and decision makers responsible for or involved in strategy formulation and implementation that affect the global competitiveness of nations and firms. Sufficient time is included in the program for participants to engage in Q&A with panel experts during the session and networking over lunch and coffee breaks.
