For Freshmen Entering the University of Illinois Fall 2009
The intercollege transfer process is competitive due to space limitations in the College of Business. Last year 238 students applied and 127 were admitted. All applicants are reviewed on a holistic basis- looking at completion of course requirements, grades, resume, campus involvement, and essays. More details on the admission criteria can be found below.

The application period will be May 10-28, 2010 and students will be notified by June 18th.
*This is the only time freshmen who started at the University of Illinois in the Fall of 2009 can apply to transfer into the College of Business.

The ICT application will be available online during application dates only. Apply (available on the first date of the application period). When applying, please use a PC instead of a Macintosh and do not submit resumes in PDF format. There is a 4000 character limit for each essay which includes spaces and punctuation.

ICT Requirements:
Admission Process: Intercollege Transfer (ICT) students will be admitted to the College only once during the academic year. All accepted transfer students will join the College of Business during the fall semester following their Freshman year.
Credit Hour Requirement
Students applying to transfer into the College of Business from within UIUC (ICT) must have completed at least 24 credit hours and two, full-time semesters at UIUC.
Advanced Placement, IB, and proficiency credits will not be considered in calculating if a student is eligible to apply to the College of Business for ICT. Only credit hours earned to meet the one-year residency requirement will be counted. AP credit that covers course requirements will be accepted.
Course Requirements: All course requirements must be completed before applying.
- Econ 102, Econ 103
- Math requirement.* Choose one of the following options:
1) Math 234 and 125
2) Math 220 (or 221) and Math 125
3) Math 220 (or 221) and Math 231
*Students who placed into a math lower than Math 125 will be evaluated on the first two math courses before applying to the College of Business
Course substitutions listed below.
Criteria for Admission: All transfer students will be reviewed holistically using the same criteria used to evaluate freshman applicants. Personal and professional essays as well as demonstrated leadership (both at UIUC and high school) will be evaluated in addition to academic performance in courses taken at UIUC.
GPA Guideline: While there is no minimum GPA required submitting an application, keeping in mind the GPA is competitive and based on the applicant pool. Students are looked at holistically; a number of factors, including GPA are used to consider admission.

3.81-4.0: 32%
3.61-3.8: 29%
3.41-3.6: 30%
3.30-3.4: 5%
3.29 and below: 4%

A copy of your current resume is required as part of the admissions application.
In addition to your resume, please submit the following essays on line at our website:

COURSE EQUIVALENTS:
Alternative courses may meet the course pattern for admission.
For example, UIUC courses:
- ACE 100 will substitute for Econ 102
- ECON 101 satisfies both Econ 102 and Econ 103 courses
- Math 220, or any higher level Calculus class will substitute for Math 234
