Last year five AKPsi members were awarded $500 each as Miller Scholars.
Applicants must submit a professional resume and a one-page statement demonstrating that “sincere appreciation” for “free markets.” The scholarship committee will review the applicants and their academic records.

The Sidney M. Stafford Scholarships
The Stafford Family Endowment was established by Sidney M. Stafford of Champaign, IL to honor his son, the late Timothy Collins Stafford. College of Business students who are pursuing a degree in accountancy are eligible to apply. First preference shall be given to students with demonstrated financial need who have transferred from a community college, junior college or similar two year college to the University of Illinois College of Business. To apply for the Stafford Scholarships, undergraduate accountancy majors should send a resume electronically to assistant dean for honors, John Hedeman at hedeman@illinois.edu. The deadline for submitting resumes is Monday, November 3. Four $350 Stafford Scholarships were awarded last year.
Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends of the College of Business, the Office of Undergraduate Affairs is able to award more than $1,000,000 annually to College of Business Undergraduates. Each scholarship has its own criteria. Therefore, the scholarship committee of the College of Business makes the decisions that match students with scholarships.
Because the College of Business has more than 100 gifts funds from which to award scholarships, the college has established a single scholarship application for most of the funds. The scholarship application will be available annually from early December to early February for continuing College of Business undergraduates. The decisions regarding the applications are made between March and July. Applicants are notified by July 31st of the final status of their applications. A few scholarships are awarded by individual application. Announcements regarding these scholarships are made in the Office of Undergraduate Affairs newsletter that is sent via email to the undergraduates in the College of Business.
High school seniors applying for admission to the College of Business do not need to apply for scholarships. The college automatically evaluates the applications of all admitted students for scholarships. There is not a separate application for scholarships.
Students who transfer to the College of Business from off campus and on campus will be notified after admission if they are eligible to apply for scholarships. Generally, only transfer students entering the junior year are eligible for College of Business scholarships.
The scholarship application period for College of Business undergraduates will be December 8, 2008 through February 9, 2009. The scholarship application is available in the STARS module on the College of Business www site.
