Caterpillar has a global reputation for excellent value.  It is a combination of superior product quality, world class dealers, and product and service support.

Caterpillar considers quality to be more responsible for allowing it to achieve profitability that any other factor.  As stated by the Chairman, Glen A. Barton, in his 1999 annual letter to stockholders, “Quality will continue to be our top priority.  We want customer’s to know that when they buy a Caterpillar machine or engine, they’re getting the best in the world.”

A key company strategy is its annual quality improvement program. This is a team-based, process-focused culture that increases Caterpillar’s competitive edge while reducing costs. Caterpillar prevents future problems by identifying and eliminating the root causes, testing the process improvements before they implement them and then verifying that the new levels of quality are being maintained.

The Building Construction Products Division also stresses the importance of quality in both its business mission and cultural values.

  • We are committed to achieving excellence in everything we do. Committed to not only meeting, but exceeding customer expectations.

  • Quality improvement is an ingredient in everything we do. Everyone has a role in improving quality. Our commitment to pride in quality requires continuous improvement not only in our products, processes, and services, but also in our internal work relationships.
