Unique Awards either given to or nominated by students
Each year, a COP committee oversees the selection of recipients for four unique awards. Nominations for all four awards must address the qualifications that are listed on the nomination forms. Awards are presented during the annual College of Business Awards Banquet. The deadline to submit nomination forms is noon on March 12; forms should be dropped off or sent to Mary Porter, 263 Wohlers Hall. The awards are:
- The President’s
Award – a student organization may nominate its immediate
past or current president (or both) for this award.
- The Student
Leadership Award – a student organization may nominate a past
or current member who has shown exemplary student leadership skills.
- The
Emerson Cammack Award for Outstanding Service to Undergraduate Students – nominees/recipient
must be an academic professional or a faculty member in an administrative
role.
- The Weinstein Excellence Award – only students may submit nominations and all students in the College may do so. The award does not recognize excellence in teaching or research; it assumes excellence in those areas but celebrates extra effort and commitment shown to students. Read the qualifications carefully and nominate someone who exceeds the typical professor’s responsibilities and has an unusual commitment to his/her students and their success.
