Director: Greg Northcraft MISSION
STATEMENT
The purposes of OOR are:
The center is administered by a director who also holds the title of "Harry Gray Chair of Executive Leadership." Funding policies are approved by the Organizational Behavior faculty of the college. The center contributes to the college's three-fold mission of fostering excellence in research, outreach, and teaching in the following manner. OOR's activities include an electronic bulletin board and e-mail network, a speaker series, graduate student research support, and annual conferences and workshops.
Research: OOR provides modest direct support for faculty and graduate student research. It also has limited funds for supporting graduate student travel to conferences and workshops. This exposure is a major source of new ideas for student-initiated research projects. The center funds the OOR Distinguished Speaker Series. This series has brought many senior scholars in our field to campus. It has also served as a forum for sharing current research among organizational scientists on the UIUC campus. The center has formed an e-mail directory to facilitate electronic communication across the UIUC campus. This network is used for announcing guest speakers and other activities of interest to the UIUC organizational science community.
The center provides Harry Gray fellowships each year for Organizational Behavior doctoral students who have distinguished themselves as promising scholars. Given the limited funds available from the college to support doctoral students, this funding is critical to the success of our program. For more information about OOR, please contact the director at the address and telephone number listed below. Professor
