Health Care: Capturing the Opportunity in the Nation's Core Fiscal Challenge Peter R. Orszag, director of the Congressional Budget Office, will talk about health care and opportunities in the nation’s core fiscal challenge on April 22 at the University of Illinois. Everyone in the Champaign-Urbana community is welcome to attend. Orszag’s visit provides people from campus and the local community an opportunity to speak directly with a top congressional advisor. Orszag will present research and findings developed by CBO in support of health care reform. Orszag is the seventh director of CBO. His four-year term began on January 18, 2007. Before joining CBO, Orszag was the Joseph A. Pechman Senior Fellow and Deputy Director of Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution. In previous government service, Orszag served as Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Senior Economic Adviser at the National Economic Council during 1997 and 1998. Earlier, he served as a staff economist and then Senior Adviser and Senior Economist at the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. The CBO provides Congress objective, nonpartisan, and timely analyses in support of economic and budgetary decisions.
