Letter to the College of Business Community

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing in light of the recent tragic events in Southeast Asia and neighboring regions. As the scope of the devastation caused by the December 26th Indian Ocean tsunami widens, we are reminded, once again, that human suffering knows no political boundaries. Our College of Business is an international community united in the pursuit of leadership, academic excellence, and the development of business leadership around the globe. Our faculty, students, administrators, and graduates represent more than 30 countries.

On behalf of all of us at the College of Business I express our deepest sympathy for all who have suffered loss. Our sympathies go out especially to those members of our community who have family and friends in the affected areas. I encourage you to offer your support to those who are working so selflessly and diligently to bring aid to the affected areas. As reports continue to expose the monumental scale of the disaster, it is incumbent upon each of us to help in her or his own way.

Avijit Ghosh
Dean, College of Business
