Business Instructional Facility

Facility Overview

Prominently located at the corner of Sixth and Gregory, the Business Instructional Facility will serve as an exciting new landmark for the ILLINOIS campus. Designed by Cesar Pelli, this impressive learning facility will provide 160,000+ square feet of space to accommodate state-of-the-art classrooms, career development and academic counseling centers, student program offices, a recruitment suite, a 300-seat auditorium, and space for students to meet and study.

The forward-looking sustainable design elements and environmentally-friendly features of the building will set new standards for future campus architecture. The U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification represents an international standard for green buildings. The Business Instructional Facility is awarded their highest rating of platinum. BIF is the first such building at any public university in the world and one of only 15 platinum certified buildings in Illinois.

The instructional facility will provide a sense of place to current and future College of Business students and will become a new home for alumni. Made possible through generous gifts from alumni, corporate partners, and friends of the College, the new instructional facility will reflect the College's stature and symbolize its commitment to the future.
