Using Technology for Teaching and Learning
- Whether simply providing a course Web site for
your
students so they can find announcements and lecture notes or teaching a
course fully online, eLearning should be done well so it is effective
for both you and your students. Information resources on this
site can help with your implementation and the eLearning Team members
are available for consultation and support and to help in any way they
can.
Instructional Design
- It is not the technology per se but rather its effective use that leads to good consequences. In turn, effective use requires thoughtful implementation. Sometimes this means making explicit and transparent what had heretofore been done face to face with little planning. Other times, this entails making assignments engaging and open ended so that student produced deliverables demonstrate their own creativity and subject matter understanding. The eLearning team can help you work through when to do the one and when to strive for the other.
