OVERVIEW OF COMPLIANCE GUIDELINES | List
Business Career Services follows the NACE Guidelines and Illinois Career Services Network Principles to ensure that undue pressure is not placed on students by employing organizations. BCS recognizes that students should have the opportunity to investigate employment options of interest to them when making their career decisions. Complying with the Recruiting Policy benefits both the student and the company. Compliance allows students to make a better decision without undue pressure, ultimately reducing the number of reneged job offers.
Full-time Offers Offers of full-time positions made to students who did not intern with the firm may be extended anytime during the fall and winter on-campus recruiting periods. Offers extended during the fall semester will not expire before December 1. Offers extended during the winter semester will not expire before April 15.
Offers of full-time positions made to any previous intern with the firm may be extended anytime after the internship begins. To give students an opportunity to explore alternative employment opportunities, such offers will not expire before December 1. Signing bonuses and other incentives associated with these offers may expire beginning May 1 for winter interns and October 1 for summer interns.
Internship Offers Interviews may take place during fall and/or winter on-campus recruiting periods.
- Summer Internships- Offers extended in the fall will not expire before December 1 and April 1 in the spring.
- Winter Internships - Interviews may take place no more than one year in advance of the internship. Offers extended in the fall will not expire before November 1. Offers extended in the spring will not expire before May 1.
