Recruiting Opportunities

ShowCareer Fair

Each fall and spring semester a two-day career fair is held that averages 100 companies and 1,800 students each day. Attending the Career Fair is an ideal way to build your company's brand on campus and pre-screen potential candidates.

ShowOn-Campus Recruiting (OCR)

OCR is available each fall and spring semester. Through Symplicity [link], you can follow your OCR from beginning to end, including tracking student résumé submission, viewing résumés online, hand-selecting students you wish to interview, and monitoring schedule sign-ups.

ShowJob Board

Access top business students by posting your full time and internship opportunities on Symplicity. Employers may post opportunities to the job board at no cost and with no obligation to interview on campus.

ShowInternships

These experiences help students explore career and industry opportunities and apply knowledge to real business situations. Internships can benefit your business in a variety of ways including: cost-effective way to recruit and evaluate potential employees, flexible addition to your work force not requiring a long-term commitment, temporary staffing solution for temporary or seasonal positions and projects, freedom for professional staff to pursue special projects or to obtain supervisory experience by overseeing an intern.

ShowCompany Presentations

Scheduling a presentation is an excellent opportunity for you to promote your company to students before résumé submission begins. These presentations have proven advantageous for both companies and students. Students who attend these sessions come to the interview more knowledgeable about the company, so more interview time can be spent assessing a candidate's qualifications and interests.

ShowJob Shadow Program

The Job Shadow Program is a one-day win-win situation for employers and students! It's easy to participate. Companies have the opportunity to give Illinois Business freshmen and sophomores an up-close look at a company or industry by "shadowing" professionals through a normal day on the job. Students see firsthand how classroom skills relate to the workplace, and the experience helps them investigate different career paths.

ShowEmployment Skills Workshops & Employer Forum Series

Offered each semester - workshop topics include: résumé writing, how to work a career fair, dressing for success, interviewing and job search techniques, and assessing job offers. If you have a different idea, call us to discuss.

In the Fall Semester - employer forums are held where panelists representing various industries provide first-hand information on career opportunities and entry requirements within their industry. Sessions address the following functional areas: advertising, marketing and sales, financial services, corporate and public accounting, corporate finance, management information systems, supply chain management, investment banking, consulting and government. Take advantage of these opportunities to gain direct access to students!

ShowMock Interviews

Mock interviews provide another excellent opportunity for you to gain early access to students and begin targeting prospective candidates well before on-campus interviews officially begin. Mock interviews for students are conducted during the career fair weeks.

ShowRésumé Critiques

Each semester, employers are welcomed to campus to assist students in designing a solid résumé while gaining company exposure before the hiring process begins. Résumé critiques are typically conducted the week prior to each career fair; however, arrangements may be made to accommodate your schedule.

ShowRésumé Books

Employers can source candidates through electronic résumé books found on Symplicity. BCS is able to provide assistance in creating a custom made resume book to meet employer's staffing needs.

To participate in these programs, or to learn more, contact a member of the Recruiting Team at 217-333-2840.
