Undergraduate Advisors
Pnina, Director
- Pnina joined BCS in 1999 with over 15 years experience
in career services program development & administration
and four years of direct supervision and management. She worked
at Indiana University, Parkland College and as an Outplacement
Consultant for AT&T. Pnina has a Masters degree from Indiana
University. She oversees the BCS Undergraduate office programs
to students, providing career development and placement advising
for undergraduate, Master of Accounting Science and Master
of Science in Taxation students. She plans and coordinates
employment skills workshops and employer forums as well as
conducts workshops on interviewing and gives career related
presentations to various groups. Pnina develops and maintains
relationships with employers during daily recruiting lunches,
company visits and company appointments. She serves as Co-Advisor
to Business Council, member of Council of Presidents, College
Placement Advisory Committee and the University Career Services
Council.
Amy, Senior Associate Director - Amy joined BCS in 2003
after a decade of business and marketing experience at companies that include:
Leo Burnett, SuperValu and BankIllinois. She received a BS in Business
Administration from the University of Illinois and an MBA from DePaul
University's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. In addition to offering
resume critiques, mock interviews and career advice, Amy is charged with
expanding internship opportunities with companies located in Champaign County.
She is active in several local organizations including Executive Club of
Champaign County, Champaign County Chamber of Commerce, Champaign County
Convention and Visitors Bureau, Provena Covenant Foundation, United Way and Don
Moyer Boy's & Girls Club,
Matt, Associate Director-
Matt joined BCS in 2003, coming from the University of Northern
Iowa where he completed his MAE in Student Affairs. He has
experience working within the mortgage banking industry as
well as career services at Northwestern University and the
University of Northern Iowa. Within BCS, Matt focuses upon
student transitions and career development issues, particularly
for freshman and sophomores, but is experienced working with
all business majors and grade levels. Matt is an active member
in many student development focused organizations, including
the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators,
the American College Personnel Association, and the Midwest
Association of College and Employers.
MSF, MSBA, MSA Advisor -
Dede, Assistant Director- Dede assists
MSA, MSBA and MSF students with their career searches. She holds a Bachelor
of Individualized Studies from the
University of Minnesota and completed advanced studies in Intercultural
Management at the School for International Training. Dede's career has included
international program management at World Learning, Inc., The
American-Scandinavian Foundation and CDS International; international student
admissions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and international
student advising at Parkland College. Dede joined Business Career Services in
October 2002.
BCS Administration -
Lois, Assistant Dean of Career Services, - Lois has over 25 years of experience
in career development and management experience and joined the University of
Illinois College of Business in 1989. She is responsible for career services
for undergraduates and master's students (MAS, MST, MSA, MSF, MSBA), including
employer outreach, corporate relations, career fairs, on-campus interviews,
job postings, resume databases, career resources, workshops, and mock interviews.
Previously she held career services positions at the University of Arizona,
Michigan State University, and Iowa State University. Other experiences include
outplacement consulting, academic advising, and teaching. Lois earned her doctorate
at Iowa State University. She is the Co-Advisor to Business Council, serves
on numerous College and University committees and councils, and is involved
with regional and national human resource professional organizations such as
the National and Midwest Associations of Colleges and Employers and the Society
for Human Resource Management.
Margie, Assistant
Director for Recruitment, - Margie came to Business Career
Services in 2004, after gaining experience with the public
accounting firm of Martin Hood Friese & Associates LLC.
Margie manages the rigorous on-campus recruiting program and
maintains placement and recruiting statistics. In addition,
Margie actively markets the many recruiting opportunities
BCS offers to existing and potential employers by meeting
with them on campus and making numerous corporate outreach
trips during the summer months.
