Ruth
V. Aguilera is an Associate Professor in the Department
of Business Administration at the
College of Business and
Fellow at the Center for Professional Responsibility in Business
and Society at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also holds
courtesy appointments at the School of Labor and Employment
Relations, the
Department of Sociology and the
College of Law at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received a Graduate
Diploma in Business Analysis from the University of Lancaster (1990),
a Licenciatura in Economics (1992) from the University of Barcelona, and
M.A. (1996) and Ph.D. (1999) degrees in Sociology from Harvard University.
Professor Aguilera specializes in
corporate governance, organizational theory, and historical comparative
methods. Her research interests lie in the intersection of economic
sociology and international management. She has spent considerable
time conducting research at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für
Sozialforschung (WZB) in Berlin, the Università Luigi Bocconi in
Milan, the Juan March Institute in Madrid, and the Research Institute
of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI-MITI) in Tokyo. more

with Prof. Federowicz entitled
Corporate Governance in a Changing Economic and Political Environment.

journals such Academy of Management
Review, Journal of International Business Studies,
and Organization Science.
