Risa Stack
Risa Stack is a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, one of the world's premiere venture capital firms. She specializes in the development of life science companies, and has assisted in the growth of several new companies including: BAS Medical, Codon Devices, Optimedica, Orexigen, and Pacific Biosciences.
Prior to joining KPCB, Risa was a Principal at JP Morgan Partners in the life science practice for six years. While at JP Morgan Partners, she sponsored a series of high profile investments. Risa also evaluated international investment opportunities and assisted portfolio companies in Europe and Latin America, and Israel.
Risa received her BS in Genetics and Development with distinction from the University of Illinois and her PhD in Immunology from the University of Chicago. She was also a member of the second class of Kauffman Fellows, an educational program designed to train emerging leaders in venture capital and high-growth companies.
Risa was named as one of the 100 Most Influential Women in Business by the San Francisco Business Times in 2004.
