Scholarship and Financial Aid Information
Deadline for applications-February 1
Financial aid (scholarships/awards and graduate assistantships) is available to highly qualified applicants. Financial aid decisions for the following academic year are made during the previous spring. Applicants interested in financial aid should submit their applications by February 1.
Scholarships and Awards: Alumni and friends of the Department generously support scholarships and awards for students enrolled in the Department of Accountancy. Students should complete and submit the appropriate application no later than February 1 for award consideration from these sources for the next academic year.
Diversity Scholarships: The Accountancy Diversity Scholarship program seeks to provide financial support to students who will further the Department’s diversity objectives. The department seeks a mix of students with varying backgrounds and experiences to achieve a student class diversity that has the potential to enrich everyone’s education and thus make the accountancy student class greater than the sum of its parts. Students should complete and submit the appropriate application materials no later than February 1 for award consideration from these sources for the next academic year.
Graduate Assistantships: The Department awards graduate assistantships to meritorious students in the MAS program. These assistantships, in exchange for 10 hours of work per week, provide a stipend and a partial tuition waiver. Students should complete and submit the Graduate MAS Program Application no later than February 1 for assistantship consideration for the next academic year.
Criteria: Department of Accountancy scholarship and award programs fall into one of three categories. Each category provides funding to both undergraduates (current juniors who will be in the first stage the subsequent year) and graduates (current seniors who will be in the MAS program the subsequent year).
- Academic merit
- A combination of academic merit and financial need
- Achievement of student body diversity objectives (The Department defines broadly its student body diversity objectives. See the Accountancy Diversity Scholarship section of this website for more details.)
External Funding Opportunities : Outside agencies have a variety of application deadlines.
