MS in Accy (tax) for Accountancy Majors from Other Universities
The MS in Accy (tax) program accepts applications for admission once a year. The deadline is February 15 for summer and fall. Applications can be processed on-line through the Graduate College.
Background RequirementsStudents applying for admission should have acquired a background in business and accounting equivalent to a B.S. in Accountancy from UIUC. The background courses in business and accounting that must be completed before admission to the MS in Accy (tax) program include those listed on the program worksheet. NOTE: For any course that you have questions about its equivalency to UIUC courses or coverage of required topics, please include a course catalog description or syllabus for the course with your application.
Admission Requirements
Admission is competitive. Applicants should have a minimum score in the 50th percentile on the verbal and quantitative portions of the GMAT, a 4.0 on the analytical writing portion of the GMAT, and a B (3.0) average for the last two years of course work (last 3 semesters if applying during senior undergraduate year).
Original transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate schools attended must accompany the application form along with three letters of recommendation.
For applicants whose native language is not English, two additional tests are required: (1) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and (2) Test of Spoken English (TSE). The Educational Testing Service offers both tests. It is recommended that applicants earn a score of at least 600 (paper-based) and 250 (computer-based) on the TOEFL and at least 50 on the TSE for admissions and financial aid. All non-English speakers must take the TSE, whether or not they have studied in the United States.
Call 1-800-GMAT-NOW to register for the GMAT or register on the web at http://www.gmac.com/ for additional information.
