Application Materials

The online application form is available through the Graduate College website. It is due by February 1. The MSA Program accepts summer applications only because the program begins in June.

The following supplemental application material should be sent to the MSA Office.

  • Final official transcript from each college or university attended, along with certified English translations if the records are in a language other than English. Credentials must be certified by an officer of the educational institution issuing the documents or by an official employed by the U.S. embassy or consulate. You should request that the educational institution send the transcript directly to the University of Illinois MSA Office in a sealed envelope.
  • Three letters of recommendation from academic and/or business sources. These forms can be downloaded from https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=uiuc-grad during the online application process.
  • A current résumé. This should include personal information (name, address, telephone number and email address), educational background, work experience (length of time in each position and a brief description of responsibilities), special training, professional associations, and special skills. May be uploaded during the online application process or sent in with your other supplemental materials.
  • A maximum 1000-word personal statement that describes the reasons for pursuing the degree as well as personal and professional goals. May be uploaded during the online application process or sent in with your other supplemental materials.
  • A Declaration and Certification of Finances Form (PDF document) for International Students only.
  • TOEFL score, if required.
  • A non-refundable application fee is required before any action can be taken. The fee is $50 for domestic students and $60 for international students. It may be paid by credit card with the online application, or by check or money order payable to "University of Illinois".

Please visit the International Student & Scholar Services website for additional information and resources for international students.
