Application Materials

 

The online application form is available at https://www3.business.uiuc.edu/apply/msa. The application deadline is February 1.

  • The MSA program begins in June of each year.  The program will begin to accept applications on October 15, 2009. Please select the Summer 2010 term. 
  • The Fall 2010 program is only for students applying as part of an Exchange Agreement with National Taiwan University and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

The following supplemental application material should be sent to the MSA Office.

  • Final official transcript from each college or university attended, along with certified English translations if the records are in a language other than English. Credentials must be certified by an officer of the educational institution issuing the documents or by an official employed by the U.S. embassy or consulate. You should request that the educational institution send the transcript directly to the University of Illinois MSA Office in a sealed envelope.
  • If you are applying before the completion of your current degree program please send a list of courses in progress.
  • Three letters of recommendation from academic and/or business sources.
  • A current résumé that includes personal information (name, address, telephone number and email address), educational background, work experience (length of time in each position and a brief description of responsibilities), special training, professional associations, and special skills. The résumé may be uploaded during the online application process or sent in with your other supplemental materials.
  • A maximum 1000-word personal statement that describes the reasons for pursuing the degree as well as personal and professional goals. The statement may be uploaded during the online application process or sent in with your other supplemental materials.
  • A Declaration and Certification of Finances Form (PDF document) for international students only. FORM MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED TO THE MSA OFFICE BEFORE YOUR APPLICATION CAN BE REVIEWED.
  • TOEFL or IELTS score, if required.
  • A non-refundable application fee is required before any action can be taken. The fee is $60 for domestic students and $75 for international students. It may be paid by credit card with the online application, or by check or money order payable to "University of Illinois".
