Illinois CPA Society Bestows Special Award of Merit on University of Illinois Professor Ira Solomon The Illinois CPA Society has presented a Special Award of Merit to Ira Solomon, CPA, Ph.D, head of the Department of Accountancy and R.C.Evans Endowed Chair in Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Solomon officially received the award last month at the Society's Annual Banquet honoring new CPAs and outstanding educators. (6/2009)

MS Tax Program's Convocation Ceremony The MS Tax Program's Convocation Ceremony for its 4th graduating class was held on May 3rd at the University Club in Chicago. The 29 students graduating received a Masters of Science in Taxation (MST) degree. Over 200 guests were in attendance for the celebration. (5/2009)
Business students capture award in ethics competition Jonathan Kepniss (ACCY) and Victoria Ku (FIN) received a plaque and cash award at Loyola Marymount University’s 11th annual Intercollegiate Business Ethics Competition. (5/2009)
Solomon Awarded 2009 AICPA "Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education" Ira Solomon, CPA, Ph.D., who heads the Department of Accountancy and holds the R.C. Evans Endowed Chair in Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is the 2009 recipient of the Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education award from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
