New Business Facility Blends Instruction, Sustainability
College of Business students will study this fall in a new, $60 million-plus building filled with high-tech classrooms, counseling and career services, and a state-of-the-art laboratory that simulates real-time market trading.  (8/2008)

Professor: Nursing Home's Finances in Dire Straits
Rachel Schwartz, who edits a scholarly journal on accounting practices, is serving as an unpaid consultant to the Champaign county board. She said that data supplied on Champaign County Nursing Home finances paints a rosier portrait than documents filed with the state.  (6/2008)

Susan Krische Selected as an Academic Accounting Fellow for the SEC
Conrad W. Hewitt, the Commission’s Chief Accountant, announced the selection of Donal Byard, Susan Krische, and Roger Martin as Academic Accounting Fellows beginning this summer. Academic Accounting Fellows serve as research resources for Commission staff by interpreting and communicating research materials as they relate to the SEC.  (5/2008)

MAS Grad Awarded Position with FASB
Jessica Tarica, Master of Accounting Science graduate, was awarded a post-graduate assistant position with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). Projects that she will be assigned to include conducting research on the Accounting Standards Codification and evaluating the US GAAP Taxonomy.  (5/2008)
